Lee National Denim Day: October 2, 2009
This October 2 South Hills OBGYN invites you to “go casual for a cause” by supporting our Lee National Denim Day Team! Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths among women; one in every eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during her lifetime. Since 1996, Lee has worked with the Women’s Cancer Programs of the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) to raise money supporting the fight against breast cancer. Over the past 13 years, Denim Day has raised over $75 million with $5 donations from team members who pledge to wear jeans on National Denim Day. |
We invite you to join our team in supporting this important cause by visiting www.denimday.com. On the upper right-hand corner of the webpage, click “Find a Team,” and search for our team; our team name is South Hills OBGYN, and our ID number is J69227. For a $5.00 donation, you will not only be registered as a member of our team, but also supporting research to find a cure for breast cancer. |
| Where do all of these donations go? The Women’s Cancer Programs of EIF supports laboratories and research institutions which are searching for more effective, less toxic breast cancer treatments as well as blood tests for earlier detection of breast cancer. In addition, they donate money to Right Action for Women, which provides aid to at-risk individuals who do not have the financial resources to cover breast cancer screenings. Finally, they support the National Breast Cancer Coalition as it provides information about breast cancer and trains breast cancer research advocates. To learn more, check out Denim Day’s website as well as the home pages of Right Action for Women (http://rightactionforwomen.org) and the National Breast Cancer Coalition (http://www.stopbreastcancer.org). |
